border="0">Northern Colorado is a particular someplace. A sense-ational, one-of-a-kind place of plains and peaks. It invites us to experience the sounds, smells, tastes, sights, and shapes of our natural world. In this workshop we will explore local artifacts that engage and stimulate our imaginations. We will take a walk through photographs, taste plants of the prairie, examine hides and feathers and hear the rhythm of the hills. Listen, you can hear the mysterious colloquial call of a white-crowned sparrow. Sniff the air, smell the pines. How cold is the chill of June snow-melt? These sensory experiences will become words, spaces, and places that create poems, images, and stories. Through the magic of place, we will come to know that language of landscape in Northern Colorado.
