Laura Mullen


Laura MullenLaura Mullen is Associate Professor of English at Colorado State University where she teaches Literature and Creative Writing on the undergraduate and graduate levels. Her courses include seminars on Modernism, Post-Modernism, and Cross-Genre Writing. She has also taught at Brown University, the University of Miami, and Naropa. She received her B.A. from the University of California (Berkeley) and her M.F.A. from the University of Iowa. Her first collection of poems was chosen as a National Poetry Series selection by C.K. Williams; her second collection (After I Was Dead) was selected for the University of Georgia Press' Contemporary Poetry Series in 1999. Her post-modern Gothic, The Tales of Horror, was published by Kelsey Street Press in 1999. Her poems have appeared in The Colorado Review, The Denver Quarterly, Fence, The New Yorker, Ploughshares and elsewhere. She has received many awards for her writing, among them a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship and a Rona Jaffe award.
