The Greyrock Writers' Festival is a celebration of the art and practice of writing and reading in the Rocky Mountain West. It was supported by the Department of English and ran successfully from 2000 through 2004, primarily under the title of the Greyrock Institute. In 2005, citing lack of funding for the project and difficulty finding faculty members to serve as coordinators, department chair Bruce Ronda cancelled the event.
